On Tour: Looking For Freedom With The Cider Of Sweden

December tours don’t always have to be cold and grey, at least not if you choose Berlinagenten to colour your stay! Our customers from Kopparberg UK, famous for making Sweden’s finest cider, wisely chose to have a very colourful time in Berlin and we were aiming to paint their stay vividly.

To really reach into Berlin’s cool & hip scene, our cider-lovers chose the popular Urban Insider Tour. We knew we had found they key to our guests’ hearts when Henrik smashed away his terrific version of “Looking for Freedom” on the bus to the delight of everyone, right after we’d already seen the Brandenburg Gate (of course), the Potsdamer Platz, had strolled across the misty Oberbaumbrücke and had walked the Eastside Gallery, where David Hasselhoff, the undisputed godfather of freedom-looking, once became a Berliner

Arriving at Soho House in the early evening, our guests’ eyes went wide when they found themselves embraced by the comforting luxury the house offers. Oh and don’t tell anyone – but we’ve heard one of Hollywood’s most famous film makers is shooting a movie in Berlin for the next two months and he’s resides at the Soho House. If you’re a paparazzi, forget this information immediately!

We then found ourselves surrounded by curious faces all around when slurping down one cocktail after another next to jade-green pool at the roof top bar: where would the trip go? It was top secret…

…until we finally entered the culinary gem that captures the city’s taste like no other: La Soupe Populaire. We love the English and their habits and here’s a great one: Dress like it’s summer. Berlin in december? No problem. Summer clothes. If they don’t get too warm. The staff at La Soupe Populaire surely don’t get to see that very often but they played it cool by serving them prosecco upon arrival, making them feel warmer immediately (if they ever felt cold anyway).

After the dinner we’ve had a few more cocktails (the x-mas edition cocktail had a chocolate Santa in it, woaah!) in the VIP section of an edgy bar located in the machine room of an old brewery. Our guests became eager to really drop the bomb for the night. They were excited to get a taste of the legendary Berlin nightlife, and they’d found the perfect travel agency to do so! Henrik made some quick calls and before long, we found ourselves on the backseat of six cabs, on the way to the famous Avenue Club. Elegantly we jumped the queue and flew right through to the dancefloor – a legendary party night that went well into the morning hours and well beyond!

Our cheerful guests arrived as 35 Kopparbergers, but left as 35 Kopparberliners. We love to entertain our guests, especially if they’re keen to rock the city with glam and style. Now that we’ve seen what cider can do to people, we really hope cider makes the breakthrough in Berlin soon. No one needs Club Mate anyway.

On Tour: Urban Insiders

Our costumers from a famous swedish law firm – the market leader in providing marriage settlements and testaments – could count themselves lucky: their bosses appreciated their hard work over the past year by not only hooking them up with a 4-day incentive trip to Berlin, they also made sure their employees would get nothing but the best by choosing Berlinagenten to be their host.

The very first stop of the tour was one for all the meat lovers out there: a traditional Berlin Currywurst (we have the best Currywurst in Germany and don’t let anyone from Hamburg tell you otherwise!). Before being transferred to the stylish design hotel Amano the group had the chance to see one of the most famous avenues in Berlin: The Kurfürstendamm. A boulevard providing more famous shops, hotels, retaurants and fashion designers than any other street in Berlin, buzzing with life all around the clock.

Berlinagenten never disappoints their clients when it comes to finding the best eateries in town. First night kicked off with a al fresco dinner in an imposing formerbread factory on the River Spree. Following evening we made it possible to get a table at Tim Raue’s La Soupe populaire, which boasts a post industrial space with art exhibitions in the dinner area. Save the best for the last, the culinary highlight was no less than the Gastro-Rallye Deluxe, a tour where we take our guests to three trendy gourmet restaurants, one dish being served at each stop. If a farmer prepares the pig to get fat before Christmas, we definitely prepare our guests to roll back home!

Now before you get the impression that the whole tour consisted of eating and drinking (which might not even be such a bad thing, either) let’s talk about small cage-like cars with fumes so lovely, you’ll never want to smell another thing again. Or even be able to. The Trabbi! Fabricated in the GDR this car was roaming the streets in eastern Germany for decades and has nowadays become a nostalgia symbol. Berlinagenten booked Trabbis for the whole group and took a 2-hours „wild east“ route with an english speaking guide, providing an exclusive insight into Berlin history for our customers. At this point I think it’s only fair to say that those oldtimer Trabbis can be tricky little beasts: One of the Trabants had some issues with it’s exhaust gases (they were partly INSIDE the car, cough cough) and made for a nasty but surely unforgettable memory for the occupants.

For the wild nights out Henrik took the group to the re-opened House of Weekend, the Avenue Club in the historic Café Moskau and of course we were granted VIP access to the Pearl, jumping queues and commencing a seemingly never ending night of partying. Our happy guests made that much clear: Never before have they been partying in such a vibrant and fashionable club!

BERLIN FOR THE OVER 30’S

Berlin is renowned for its nightlife and that doesn’t just mean for the young. If you’re over 30, here’s the perfect itinerary for a wild Berlin night out.

Start with a dinner at the former Bötzow brewery, home of La Soupe Populaire. This post-industrial restaurant is tucked away behind raw concrete, rusty pipes and iron doors but the food is amazing and and the menu is created by no less than celebrity chef Tim Raue himself. After dinner, check out the newest venue on the partying strip of Torstrasse – The Bonbon bar, which attracts a mature, stylish and international crowd. Apart from the beautiful art deco interior, don’t miss a visit to the fabulous loo.

After 1 am it´s time to move on to the next level and order the legendary medicine bottle filled with vodka at the hip Trust Bar. Once you have passed the picky door policy, step into a world that reflects the golden era of the 90’s, when the clubs were trashy-chic, retro, inspiring, wild, and very sexy! If you don´t trust your capacity to drink vodka like a Berliner at 5am, it´s time for real clubbing.

Change out of your killer heels and dress Berlin super cool grunge before you arrive to the superlative techno temple Berghain. Be prepared to wait in the queue. They may let you in, or they may not, it’s that kind of place. A Berlinagenten By Night is the best way to have access to coolest bars and clubs in the city. Then you can really live it, smell it, touch it and taste the City like a true local.
